I was born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island. While growing up, I had the privilege of visiting the plethora of New York City museums and galleries. I studied figure drawing at the Art Students League and continued my art studies at the Boston Museum School of Fine Art.

Eventually, I moved to San Francisco and began a fifteen-year career in various healing modalities and grew fascinated with sculpting figures in clay.

As a healer, I learned to intuit color and energy and interpret it’s meaning. As a sculptor, I translated this transformative experience into a creative process. I was the featured sculptor in the movie “In the Wake” shown at the San Francisco Film Festival.

Newly married, my creative process morphed into the world of Abstract Expressionism. I wanted to learn how to paint the internal world of color, energies and form onto canvas.

Painting abstractly connects me to an intuitive, Emergent Source. A visual language of personal and archetypal images will appear bridging my inner and outer world. I rely on my heart, body and instincts to guide me. I discern, and make choices. The painting mirrors back to me how to proceed. Applying rhythmic layers of color onto the canvas, I make use of a variety of tools: palette knife, rubber tips, brushes large and small, pastel, crayon, acrylic and oil paint.

Harmonic, playful and contextual interplays of color begin to demonstrate the infinite stream of information in the abstract universe of paint and canvas. The real magic occurs when the viewer connects to my art and understands yes, I know what this feels like. I designed the curriculum, Create Inside/Out and intend to teach classes near Laguna Beach, California. I wish to share what I have learned with my community.

I am presently a juried member of the Women’s Painters West in Los Angeles.

I enjoy connecting to the Essence of who I am and translating this into a visual language.
